'Man shot four times, taken to fire station'
Police believe this incident was between gang members, and according to the
article the victim survived.
The point I want to emphasize is that if you ever get shot you can do something about it.
There have been times where a person was shot 12 times and they survived.
It might be the most horrible pain you ever experienced or you might not even feel it.
The dangerous part is if you cover up because of the pain or the surprise, and curl up on the ground, you'll have just become a practice target for the shooter, and he'll probably keep
shooting you until he runs out of bullets. (But you're not going to sit there and take it. Now you're going to go after him.)
If the shooter is 10 to 15 feet from you, as they are in most shootings, then it's best to
move toward the shooter. The reason being, if you turn and run, you'll be so close that he'll
easily be able to shoot you several times in the back, unless you're able to dive for cover
and quickly get away. Normally it's best to move toward the shooter, especially if he hasn't started shooting yet.
Just explode toward him, without telegraphing anything. (this is how all of our moves are
in Hikuta) When you get to him, hit him in the throat or chest with an open hand strike.
Stomp your foot at the same time you strike to add a lot more power.
When you're close and you explode toward the shooter, he doesn't have enough time to react,
giving you the advantage.

Simple, yet effective!
