Well done week and one self-defense tip

This was a great week and I look forward to the next.

Here's a tip that I've mentioned in the past but its so
important that I wanted to bring it up again.

When in public one of the most important things
you can do when confronted is to keep moving.
A moving target is a hard target to hit.

One more thing; decide right now before you
even go out the door that if someone ever tries to
take your life that it will cost them their life.
This will give you the mind set that will help
strangers realize that anything they try to do to
you will cost them dearly.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Al Abidin

how you can have the extreme self-defense skills to add to your
new mind set.

Local Police demo

The demo I did for a local Police department went pretty well today,
although at the end one of their sergeants asked me a question and then
proceeded to criticize the Koga system currently used by their department, saying
that they should use more strikes and kicks to stop the bad guys.

Unfortunately, I couldn't think of a good interuption to try to stop them from
a heated verbal exchange of words, so I left without much of a chance to debrief
and get some feedback with the training staff,

However, they were all very polite and professional with me and I'm grateful
I had a chance to meet with them.

Let's switch over to the issue of strikes and kicks:
The feedback I'm getting from my police officer friends is that many departments
no longer teach strikes and kicks to try to get around the liability issues involved.

Evidently, a large number of criminals, when caught in the act of a crime, who then
resist arrest and end up getting hurt, well they sue the police.

So many police departments are trying to use self-defense methods that won't hurt
the suspect, which can be quite a challenge, especially when the suspect is trying to
hurt or kill the officer.

Oh well all in a days work.

Have a wonderful day!

Busy isn't the word

Our new law enforcement demo video is coming out this week and we'll begin producing the other videos starting next week.

I'm going to have so start being a little more conservative in planning my time
each week.

This week I've agreed to make some presentations above and beyond what
I normally do each day.

Here's a brief glimpse at this week:
Tuesday: Police demonstration
Wednesday: Transit demonstration
Thursday: Lakewood speaking engagement - 'How to Survive a Mugging'
Friday: conference

Next week is just about the same, except for on Thursday I'll be making
6 demonstrations all in the same day at one of the local Sheriff's
stations and I'm sure it will be interesting.

Have a wonderful day!

Just Keep Moving

The most important thing you can do when confronted by an attacker is
to keep moving.

This will help you because a moving target is a harder target to hit.
It will also force you to keep breathing, so that you'll think more clearly.

So if someone steps in front of you, just quickly step around them
to get past them, keeping alert in case they approach you from
behind.

Have a great day!

A protester with a Matt Furey sign

Two days ago I saw a news article about the Moussaoui trail and it showed a picture
of a person demonstrating out in front of the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, VA.

What caught my attention was the sign he was carrying. It said 'Defend America',
with MattFurey.com written below it.

Wow, here was an associated press article that surely was used in numerous newspapers across the country and Matt Furey got some real good free advertisement.

I just have two things to say about this:

1) Good for you Matt.
2) All protesters see me about adding my website Hikuta.com at the bottom of your sign
in bold letters so I can get some free advertising also.

Switching gears, have you checked out our self-defense DVD's to see how easy it is to learn.
Well, click here now to see them.

Have a great day!

Cooperating won't save you

In Hollywood a carjacker demanded the keys of Ryan Groetken's Lexus. After Ryan gave up his keys and turned away the carjacker shot him in the back. Unfortunately, Ryan died.

Ryan cooperated with the carjacker and put up no resistance, yet the ruthless carjacker killed him anyway.

So much for the theory of 'just give him want he wants so he won't hurt us'.
All too often these ruthless criminals will kill for no apparent reason.

Whenever a criminal comes at you with a weapon, its vital that you knock him down and out if you want to survive.

So how will you do this?
1) With a gun?
-It could work, but it takes a lot of training, and if you don't have a permit to carry it, you'll end up in jail, and if you shoot him might still end up in jail and you'll probably be sued by the criminal's relatives.

2) Get a dog?
-Dogs will often get scared in a violent situation and run away.

3) Carry pepper spray, a knife, etc?
-These could work, IF you can get them out in time. Unfortunately most attacks are by surprise leaving you no opportunity to use these items.

One could describe these items as pacifiers. They make you feel secure, however they really provide no value because in a real life situation, the criminal is not going to pause for you to get these items out. There won't be a 'Take Three' like in Hollywood where they do it over if you don't get it right. On the street you've got one chance to stop the attack and you better stop it quick.

4) Learn martial arts?
-Sure if you have 5 or 10 years to gain enough skills to qualify as a beginner on the street.
Even then, you'll be learning how to fight one person at a time, when a vast majority of street attacks are made by two or more criminals.
When asked what he would do if two people attacked him, Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert Royce Gracie said he wouldn't fight.

5) Learn a combat art?
-Good luck in finding one that isn't just a mixture martial arts that some well-meaning instructor thought would work for you.

6) Learn boxing or wrestling?
-Again this is preparing for one attacker. Good luck.

7) Learn a professional art?
-This is how you can gain the skills necessary to stop any attacker.

Kuta is a professional art developed by a group of professionals in several different fields of expertise.

These professionals looked at every combat system in existence, at least all the ones that had proven to be effective in real life or death situations, and they designed a professional art so powerful that, in the words of the late DOK Lee, a half-power strike would crush the enemies chest and a full-power strike would knock bones out of the other side of the enemies body.

This is why whenever someone even with minimal training in Kuta (also known as Hikuta) defends in a real-life encounter, the attacker is instantly sent to the ground. Little does the attacker know that he's very lucky that the defender only practiced off a video for a few hours.

Click here to see how you can start to have these skills.

Have a wonderful day!

Self-Defense for Two Marines

Hello,

Today I spoke to two Marines. One on active duty, the other is now a civilian.

The one on active ordered my video earlier this year and just practiced with a
friend a few times and his friend was able to defend himself against three attackers
recently. This really caught his attention and so now we're going to put together a seminar for him
and some other marines along with him.

The training will include the highest level of combat techniques I've ever taught
anyone because these marines are leaving next month to be in a combat zone.

The other marine who is now a civilian ordered our 'Extreme Combat' DVD,
our Women's Self-Defense DVD and our Kid's Self-Defense DVD.

Not only that he asked what else I have, so I told him, we just filmed 3 new videos last weekend
to add to the other 3 we will soon begin production on.

The 3 newest videos will be available on DVD and will show detailed training on Kuta Strikes (Volume One), Kuta Kicks (Volume Two) and Escaping Holds (Volume Three).

These new videos will include a video testing portion at the end of each one so that after
you practice, you'll have a test to take, which you'll be instructed how to videotape yourself
so that you'll be able to send it to me to personally evaluate your progress.

I'll let you know when we're in final production on these.

Have a fantastic day!
