Music store gunman

"Yesterday in Tacoma, Washington a gunman opened fire in a music store, injuring six people, one critically."

I read that line in yesterday's paper, and it was just a reminder to all of us how quickly our world come be turned from calm and peaceful to violent and dangerous, so...

When you are out buying gifts this holiday season, be watchful for those who appear nervous or stressed, and stay clear of them.

Its better for you to let someone who arrived about the same time or even slightly after you to have the space in line or parking space, than for them to pull out a gun or knife and use on you.

What about my rights, you say, I was there first. Well, let's talk about rights. You have the right and responsibility to return safely home so that you can live another day with the hope of a better life.

(Quick side note of how to have a better life- it doesn't get dropped in your lap like a lottery jackpot; no it is earned by consistent hard work in your area of passion and skills, seeking wise counsel from several who you respect along the way, and its topped off with never ending persistence that makes a difference in the lives of other people.)

Have a great holiday season.

All the best,

Al Abidin
